Maverick loves the competition, being part of a team, and the feeling of making a big play when his teammates are counting on him. He loves hitting, catching, and finding ways to help his team win, but most of all, he loves the friendships and memories he makes along the way. Baseball challenges him to work hard, stay focused, and keep getting better every day.
Maverick is inspired by his parents, coaches, teammates, and the players he looks up to in baseball. His parents inspire him to work hard, stay humble, and never give up when things get difficult. His coaches teach him that success comes from preparation and teamwork. He is also inspired by great baseball players who show him what is possible when you combine talent, discipline, and determination.
One of the moments that makes me proudest is watching Maverick hit his first home run in Omaha, Nebraska. Seeing the excitement on his face after all the work he had put into becoming a better hitter was unforgettable. But what made me even prouder was seeing him celebrate with his teammates. He has learned that baseball is about more than individual accomplishments—it’s about being a great teammate, working hard, and enjoying the journey.
