Learn MoreMax loves the challenge of sports—the competition, teamwork, and the feeling of pushing himself to get better every day. He loves learning new skills, training hard, and seeing that work pay off on the court or field. Most of all, he loves being part of a team, competing with heart, and giving everything he has to the game. For Max, sports aren’t just something he does—they’re something he truly loves.
Max is inspired most by his dad, a former collegiate football player who even tried out for the Houston Texans. He looks up to his athleticism, drive and love of the game. His mom provides the discipline behind the scenes, especially with education and character. He’s also inspired by Tyreek Hill, one of his favorite football players, and the legendary Michael Jordan, his basketball idol.
One of my proudest moments wasn’t one of Max’s many flag football championships. It was watching his YMCA basketball team struggle through a losing season. Max never quit. He showed up, stayed focused and gave his all until the very last game—when his team finally won by several points. Watching him stay determined and help lead his team to that victory showed me his true character: he never gives up.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
