Beyond the thrill of winning, she loves the continuous growth, learning just as much from a loss as a victory. For Maya, every match is a puzzle to solve, pushing her to evolve, refine her strategy, and step back onto the mats sharper every time.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Maya is inspired by elite female martial artists who show that strength and grace go hand in hand. She dreams of traveling the world as a sponsored athlete, showing girls everywhere that they can be tough and fearless. Closer to home, she finds deep inspiration in her teammates and peers. Leading by example, her dedication is so contagious that she even motivated her dad to step onto the mats and compete! She aims to lift up everyone around her while forging her own path to the top.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment was watching Maya transition from a dedicated student into a natural leader and mentor. After competing across 8 tournaments: earning 4 golds, 5 submissions, and a top-20 ranking—she didn't just celebrate her own success. Instead, she immediately turned around to coach and encourage her teammates. Seeing her embrace both victories and losses with maturity, set her sights on running the academy one day, and empower other young girls to be confident has been unforgettable.
