Learn MoreMy son’s favorite part of playing sports is the competition. He loves being able to put all the hard work and practice into action and show how he has improved. Whether it’s learning a new move, building his speed, getting stronger, or developing his skills, he enjoys seeing his progress come to life during a game. The competition pushes him to work harder, challenge himself, and continue improving while having fun doing what he loves.
Some of my son’s favorite athletes are Justin Jefferson, Saquon Barkley, Lonnie Walker, and Ja Morant. Being from our city, Lonnie is especially inspiring to him. He admires the passion, dedication, and work ethic that Saquon and Justin bring to their sports. He also loves watching Ja Morant’s basketball game and the incredible abilities he brings to the court. These athletes motivate him to keep working, improving, and developing his own game.
My favorite part of my son’s sports journey has been watching his physical abilities improve, from becoming stronger and faster to developing his skills. But my absolute favorite part has nothing to do with sports. He used to struggle with controlling his anger, and now I see moments when he becomes frustrated but is able to pause, calm himself down, and regain control on his own. Watching him develop that maturity and self-control has been incredibly meaningful.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
