What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Melody loves the challenge of softball—the feeling of competing, learning, and getting better. She especially loves pitching, making a big play, and being part of a team. But what she loves most is that softball gives her a chance to work hard, overcome challenges, and inspire younger players through her own journey. Softball has taught her that every mistake is an opportunity to learn and every success is a reason to keep working!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Melody is inspired by her family, coaches, teammates, and the athletes who continue to push the game forward. They remind her that talent is only part of the journey. Work ethic, humility, resilience, and being willing to help others are what make a great athlete and an even better person. She is especially inspired by those who have worked through challenges to reach their goals, because they remind her that where you start does not determine how far you can go.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest is seeing Melody invited to represent Puerto Rico through the World Stage Elite/Puerto Rico Fastpitch Club National Team. Watching her hard work open doors beyond Connecticut has been incredible, but even more meaningful is seeing her embrace the opportunity with humility, pride, and a desire to keep learning. Seeing her represent her heritage through the sport she loves has been a truly unforgettable moment for our family.
