Micah lives and breathes basketball. He learns from every mentor and spends countless hours at the rec center sharpening his skills.

What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreMicah loves the excitement of the game, competing with his teammates, and seeing his hard work turn into improvement. Basketball gives him a place to challenge himself, build confidence, and keep learning. Whether he is practicing alone at the rec center or playing in a game, he is happiest with a basketball in his hands.
Micah is inspired by his coach and his daddy and other male figures he looks up to. Each of them mentors him, teaches him, and encourages him to become a better athlete and young man. He listens carefully to their advice and works hard to apply everything they teach him both on and off the court.
My proudest moments are seeing Micah choose to practice without anyone having to push him. He regularly goes to the rec center to work on his skills because he genuinely wants to improve. Watching his dedication, discipline, and love for basketball grow makes me prouder than any single win or point he could score. He eats, sleeps and dreams basketball.
