What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreMichael loves the challenge of learning something new and seeing himself get better. Martial arts has taught him discipline, confidence, and the importance of practice. Now, as he starts tackle football, he’s excited to take on a whole new challenge. He loves running, learning the game, being part of a team, and finding out just how much he can accomplish when he works for it.
Michael is inspired by James Cook and Josh Allen. He loves running and watches Cook’s form to learn how he moves on the field. He studies Allen’s throwing form and works on his arm so he can throw like him. He also admires Josh’s work with Oishei Children’s Hospital. With both of his parents being nurses, Michael understands that being someone others look up to is about more than what you accomplish on the field.
Watching Michael grow through martial arts makes us incredibly proud. We’ve watched him walk into the dojo as a beginner, compete in tournaments, advance through his belts, and keep working toward his goal of earning a black belt. He’s learned that progress comes from showing up, listening, practicing, and trying again. Now, watching him carry that same determination into his first tackle football season feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
