Michael is inspired by both his father and I. His father encourages him to work hard for what he wants and to not let distractions take you from your dreams. And I've inspired him to pursue being a college student athlete, as I was, through hard work and sacrifice. He knows we will push him and support him through it all.
The one moment that makes me the proudest is when he suffered a knee injury in the 5th game of his junior year, he didn't want to leave the field. He stayed to cheer his teammates on. As disappointed as he was, he went to the practices and games for the next three weeks (even though he couldn't play) and continued to coach up his teammates and cheer them on from the sideline.
