Receive Text UpdatesThe outlet it provides to her. She becomes someone outside of her calm/ laid back state. She’s labeled as a leader, role model and a respectable player. That sole responsibility of holding those titles and respect from player gives her so much power in being the example. All of her results are from hard work so she loves that control.
Her family inspires her. She’s the oldest of 3 and she’s the one that holds the family together. Her parents raised her with the poise that makes one need to know her. Because of that, her siblings, teammates, coaches get inspired by her so she loves holding that role.
It was a showcase game in Las Vegas with college coaches in the stand. It was the game before semifinals and we were down in the 4th inning. With all the pressure, she was up to bat and choked. She struck out, walked in the dugout, slammed her helmet on the bench and lost it. After that weekend, she approaches me and said she’d never do that again. From that moment on, she earned the title as a captain on the team because her teammates voted. She hasn’t let down since and continues to grow
