My name is Mo and I’m a kid that has a dream of doing an Ironman, I also do cross country, track, flag football, soccer, basketball.
Thank you for supporting Mohamed in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreMo shows so much passion for running, every day he goes out for a run and has 90km weeks. He loves soccer and basketball in school and likes to join a flag football team in the spring, he would love to win because he wants to start triathlons and it is very expensive. Mo says that running clears his mind and makes the world stop just for a little. He wants to spread awareness about the sports, he’s always helping when he can.
My biggest inspiration and what keeps me going is the fear to fail. The thing about me is I can not give up, it is what makes motivates me to go to practice, finish a race, do the work, everyday. In terms of a person that inspires me is would be my dad, my parents are the ones that take me to all my sporting events without them I wouldn’t be able to play, big shoutout to sport moms. My parents are also immigrants, it inspires me to be better because they sacrificed so much for me by coming here.
I was most proud of my first high school track season. I set a goal to make it to Offsaa, some people laughed in my face and said i could never. I ended up winning my city championship in all three of my events then I went on to regionals and barely got a spot for ofsaaa. This season showed so much dedication and discipline, and I would love to share my story about running and how sports has become a part of me that nobody can take away.
