What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Nadia loves most about playing hockey is the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, and continue perfecting the ones she’s already mastered. Hockey has also given her a tremendous sense of pride and confidence. Coming from a family that knew nothing about the sport, she’s embraced every challenge and worked hard to grow as a player. Seeing how far she’s come through her dedication and determination makes her incredibly proud of herself—and makes us even prouder of her.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her best friend Adalynn introduced Nadia to hockey and her dad has been a huge inspiration throughout her journey. Watching Adalynn’s love for the game motivated Nadia to step onto the ice, and that friendship has helped shape her passion for hockey. Seeing how far she’s come through her dedication and determination makes her incredibly proud of herself—and makes us even prouder of her.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Nadia’s proudest moment was being named Miracle Gold Hockey Summer Skills Standout Skater of the Week. As one of the smallest players, still a beginner, and the only Asian player in the program, she worked hard and never gave up. She kept up with the boys’ skating speed through determination and effort. Earning that award proved to her that hard work pays off and gave her the confidence to keep pushing herself.
