Nash’s older brother Noah inspires him. Noah is also an athlete, playing on multiple Rep teams. Nash wants to be like his big brother and make him proud. He also sees how hard Noah works everyday for his goals, and is motivated by his brother’s example. Additionally, Nash is a pretty big Joseph Woll fan from the TML.
Last year Nash stepped on the ice for the first time. He had never played hockey before. He knew he wanted to be a goalie, but I asked him to spend one season as a player first. Learn the game, improve skating abilities, etc. A few weeks into the season it was his turn to be in the net, as his U9 team didn’t have a set goalie. He killed it with half the proper equipment and pads 3 sizes too small. He came off begging me to please let him be a goalie now! So, I did. Now he’s a U11–1 rep goalie!
