What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves the camaraderie of his team & how the sport pushes him to grow. There’s no better feeling than sticking a landing after learning a new skill that took months of practice. His time is spent studying senior men’s techniques & dreams of collegiate gymnastics & the Olympics

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

He is a huge fan of Asher Hong, Frederick Richard and Yul Muldaur as Gymnasts. He says they show him what is possible when you work hard and stay disciplined, even after making mistakes. He says that as his mother, I inspire him because it’s just been me and him for most of his life. We celebrate every victory, big and small. He said it’s not just about winning, but becoming the best version of himself, which I definitely see him doing

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment was watching Nathan qualify for nationals in Texas. As I watched him march out on the floor alongside the other athletes I was so incredibly proud. I know the hard work dedication He’s put in. Listening to the Star-Spangled Banner & saluting the flag was very emotional. He placed second on rings & the smile and pride on his face was priceless. He’s also on the honor roll & involved in his church activities. He’s a very well-rounded young man & I’m proud of the man he’s becomin
