Learn MoreNicholas starting playing T-Ball and Flag Football at 5yrs old. As he grew he progressed as a travel ball catcher playing in CA, NV, FL & TX, well as pop warner quarterback. One month before his 12th Birthday he was diagnosed with bone cancer. After 10 months in the hospital enduring 26 rounds of chemotherapy, his right leg was amputated mid thigh 5 days before his 13th birthday. Although cancer took his abilities to play, it did not take his passion for.
Nicholas is most inspired by his father Nick who played Division I baseball in college. He and his Dad both share in the comradery that these sports bring into their lives and the true heartfelt friendships that last throughout.
I remember one game when a teammate of Nicholas’ had an opportunity to put our team into the next playoff with a hit but struck out. His teammate was very disappointed in himself. Nicholas told him, “hey, it’s ok. It could have been any one of us. We’ve got a lot more baseball to play.” That made me proud.
