What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

My son’s response: I love playing my sport because I get to enjoy spending time with friends and family on and off the track. I feel like it makes friends and family get together and bond more. It also helps me get closer to Jesus and church I also love my sport because it keeps me in shape and it’s very hard to do. I have to keep myself in check. I also love my sport because it makes me happy and forget about everything when I’m on the track and I love being competitive.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Who inspires me on the track is my trainer carrie killebrew and Haiden Deegan. Carrie inspires me because she’s a hard worker and works hard to be good at the sport and never gives up no matter how hard things get she always tries to perform her best and always does her best and keeps a good attitude and Haiden Deegan inspires me because he is very competitive and he always wants to be number 1 and always wants to try his hardest as well and does his best

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am a proud mother to know that when he’s out there riding, everything else fades away. He isn’t thinking about the chaos of the world or the thoughts that can sometimes lead him toward negativity. I get to watch him ride, and in those moments, I see nothing but pure joy, freedom, serenity, and peace.
