What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat I love most about sports is the opportunity to compete and constantly challenge myself to improve. Competing pushes me to work hard not only in athletics, but in every area of my life. I love setting goals and finding new ways to get better. Most of all, I value the bonds I’ve built with my teammates. Some of my closest friendships have come from the teams I’ve gotten to be a part of.
I am inspired by my coaches. My dad is always willing to put in time and effort to help me be a better player and person. Coach Brado always knows just what I need to get better and finds new ways to challenge me. My SBA basketball coaches help me to be confident and play big. I also look up to professional athletes like Josh Naylor and Julio Rodriguez. I admire how hard they work and how good of teammates they are, and I try to be just like them.
I am most proud of returning after a broken hand this year. I missed the most important part of my season, like the state tournament. It was really hard to not be able to play, but I tried to find ways to be active, support my team, and still be a leader in the dugout. I still went to every game and practice. I worked hard to get back, even when it was painful, and I ended up getting to participate in the All State Games shortly after.
