What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

His father, grandfather and great-grandfather instilled in him a love for sports. So much time spent with his dad and brother is spent throwing the ball, working out, and training for baseball and football. I recently asked why he loves football and baseball, and he said, "When i'm out there, I can just forget about everything in the world and play with everything I have. The friends I've made are definitely one of the best parts too".

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His father is his greatest inspiration. He raised him with a love for sports and has spent countless hours throughout the years helping him become the best athlete he can be. He has taught him that being a good teammate is just as important as being a good athlete. To be there for his teammates, to know that failure is a part of the game and let it make him better and to always play like it could be your last game, because you never know when it may be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

At the start of his 7th grade football season, he suffered a broken leg costing him the entire season. He worked hard and came back stronger after his injury. Even when he couldn't play, he went to the games and cheered on his teammates. Watching him stay mentally strong has taught me so much about perseverance. He inspires me to to keep going through hard times and not let failure stop me. He makes me so proud.
