What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Nyelle cherishes her friendships that have been built playing soccer and part of a swim club. She also likes being part of the teams’ successes, whether it's competing in swim relays or passing a perfect ball to a teammate in soccer. Nyelle loves the competition sports brings and landing that perfect pass, goal, or beating her times in swimming. She's been playing soccer since she was 3 years old and loves the game. Even though set backs are tough, it is important to learn from them.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Christine Sinclair - She was one of the most talented Canadian woman soccer players to ever play soccer but always played with humility. She led by example, always encouraging others. She always shared her successes with her teammates, even when she was the driving force on the team. Summer McIntosh is the strongest Canadian woman swimmer in the world. She is always pushing herself to improve her times, beating world records. With every race, you can see her dedication and commitment to swimming

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Nyelle joined swimming later than her peers but quickly was able to become a front runner, often beating girls older than her. In her third year of swimming, she made AA qualifying time, that is not normally seen in such a short time in competitive swimming. Nyelle made the Premier and Alliance soccer teams, which is the top tier in our province. Being involved in two competitive sports, Nyelle is busy everyday, but she is so driven and never complains.
