What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Olivia loves the unique partnership that develops between a rider and a horse. She enjoys getting to know each horse’s personality, figuring out their individual quirks, and working through challenges together. For her, the most rewarding part is gradually building trust and forming a bond that allows both horse and rider to grow in confidence and succeed as a team.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Olivia is inspired by her trainer, Patty, who has dedicated her career to teaching riders of all ages to love, care for, and work with horses. Patty often says, “It is never the horse’s fault,” teaching Olivia that riders must continue learning and adapting to each horse. Her commitment to humane treatment and meeting the individual needs of both horse and rider has greatly influenced Olivia.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Olivia is grateful and recognizes the sacrifices our family has made to give her the opportunity to ride. She truly loves the sport and treats every horse with compassion and kindness, regardless of its behavior that day. She sees imperfections as redeeming qualities, remains eager to learn, and understands that her success is never defined by the color of the ribbon she earns.
