Paisley (Jaws on the track) loves the opportunities roller derby provides. Despite the lack of scholarship opportunities directly tied to the sport of roller derby, participating allows her to travel the country and some athletes even travel the globe to compete with other roller derby players around the nation and even around the world. Roller derby has been a passion of Paisley’s since she was young and she has learned valuable skills to take into adulthood.
Paisley is inspired by her fellow athletes. Both on and off the track, she looks up to those who have aged out and continue playing on adult leagues, she is inspired by skaters who have perfected skills she still strives for and she also finds ways to inspire herself through pushing herself to meet new goals and setting milestones that will challenge her on and off her skates.
In June of this year, Paisley and her home team, Indianapolis Junior Roller Derby, for the first time, placed 1st in their region’s Post-Season Play-Off tournament. Paisley and her team worked exceptionally hard this past season to make it to the national roller derby stage and compete in the championship games in Chicago, IL. Paisley will go on this year to try out for the upcoming 2027 Worlds Cup that will take place in Scotland. She is competing for 1 of 40 spots nationwide.
