When she lead her middle school team to the county championship. They made it to the championship in 2025 but lost and Payton was determined to win this year. Her middle school girls team hadn’t won a championship in decades and she was determined to bring the school a title before graduating 8th grade. More importantly, Payton wanted the win for her teammates who were new to the sport of basketball but had put in alot of work to get better individually and as a team.
