What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MorePepper loves the feeling of seeing all of her hard work come together. She enjoys learning new skills, challenging herself, and the excitement of competing, but she especially loves being part of a team and getting to experience it all alongside her gymnastics friends.
The teammates she looks up to in the higher levels inspire her most, especially her gymnastics big sis, Harper. Seeing their hard work, determination, and the skills they’ve achieved motivates Pepper to keep working toward her own goals and shows her what’s possible as she grows in the sport.
Two seasons ago, Pepper didn’t make the Bronze team at her current gym. Instead of giving up, she spent the next year competing Bronze at another gym and also competing in her current gym’s rec league. Any time we mentioned six days in the gym might be too much, she insisted she wanted to keep going. Next season, she earned her spot on Silver and went on to become State Champion in all events and all-around. I’m most proud of the determination she showed turning disappointment into motivation.
