What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

PJ loves the dedication and hard work it takes to be great. Sports prepare him for life by teaching him that everything isn’t going to be easy and that success takes commitment. He loves competing, learning from his coaches, and growing with teammates who become like family. He loves knowing that every practice gives him a chance to improve, push through challenges, and become better than he was the day before. Football teaches him to work hard, trust the process, and never give up.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

PJ is inspired first by his faith in God, his family (especially baby brother Chase), and friend Kevin. His mom reminds him to stay humble, work hard, and use his gifts with purpose. Kevin shares PJ’s go-getter mindset. Kevin encourages PJ to keep going even when things get hard. He pushes him to believe he can. Chase inspires PJ to be a strong role model and reminds him that someone is always watching and learning from him. PJ is motivated to lead by example, work hard, and stay determined.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was seeing PJ return to football after being injured before his first game. He kept showing up, encouraged teammates, and cheered from the sidelines. When cleared to return, he had missed so many games he couldn’t play his original position, but instead of quitting, he accepted a role and gave it his all! Even as multiple surgeries at a very young age, PJ has always been a fighter, defying the odds and facing challenges with perseverance and a smile.
