What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Piper loves most about volleyball is that it challenges her to constantly grow. She loves the competitiveness, the adrenaline of being on the court, and especially the feeling of working together with her teammates toward a common goal. But more than anything, she loves the people and relationships the sport has given her. Volleyball has taught her the value of hard work, perseverance, confidence, and being part of something bigger than herself.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Piper is inspired first and foremost by God. Her faith reminds her to work hard, stay humble, trust the process, and use the gifts she has been given to encourage others. On the court, she is inspired by her coaches, teammates, and the athletes who have shown her what dedication and perseverance look like. Off the court, she is inspired by her family, who support and encourage her every step of the way. She wants to make the people who believe in her feel proud of her accomplishments.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment in Piper’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest isn’t necessarily a specific game or tournament—it’s watching her push through a difficult mental season and come out stronger on the other side. There was a time when she struggled mentally and had to learn how to believe in herself again. As her mom, it was incredibly hard to watch her go through that, but I watched her choose to keep going, keep working, and keep trusting God even when things felt difficult.
