Derrick Barnes is who he looks up to because he loves the game of football and his cousin is in the NFL and is on the Detroit Lions team. He looks up to him because he’s an example of success looks like and can honestly feel like he have a chance to be great at whatever sport he chooses to do. He pushes to be the athlete he want to be and I always tell him the sky is the limit.
One moment that makes me proud is him continuing to work through whatever his weaknesses is on the court and off. He works hard academically and he says he wants to make me a rich mom lol he has to do it because he’s my oldest of 4. I love the person that he is and he has so much potential to be great at whatever he puts his mind to. He always told me he wanted to do sports and he wants to be a business man. I know he can do both.
