What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The bond she shares with her teammates. She loves getting to know new players and seems to pick up on their talents. She seems to take her game to a higher level when competition is fierce. She is respectful of the coaching staff and follows their directive without question. She always shows excellent sportsmanship and realizes that you sometimes win and sometimes lose but accepts the results respectfully. Her focus is steadfast and unwavering.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her mom inspires her as she is another outstanding athlete who continues to defy all the odds. Always raises the bar to a far reach and never fails to succeed and excel. She is the mother of three youngsters that always keep her stepping but yet she always makes time for her own athletic accomplishments, things like triathlon events. She’s an inspiration to all of her girls. She demands that all of her daughters are respectful always.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

When she was playing in a soccer game, there was a girl on her team with developmental difficulties. During the game, this player was nearby on the field. Raelyn had a clear shot at scoring a goal, but instead, she passed it off to the other girl and she scored! What a moment. It was a very unselfish and rewarding play and I will remember it always as a hallmark of Raelyn's character.
