What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves being part of a team, learning new skills, and giving his best every time he steps on the field. Flag football gives him a place to channel his energy, challenge himself, and feel proud of what he can accomplish. He loves encouraging his teammates, making plays, and celebrating together. More than anything, he loves the excitement of the game and knowing that his team is counting on him.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

His coaches and teammates inspire him. At only 5 years old, he is already learning that being a great athlete is about more than making great plays—it is about listening, working hard, supporting your team, and getting back up when something is difficult. He looks up to the people who encourage him to keep trying, and he is always excited to learn, improve, and make his team proud.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moments that make me proudest aren’t just when he makes a great play—they’re when I see him overcome a difficult moment and choose to keep going. He sometimes has to work harder than other children his age to regulate his emotions and stay focused, but he continues to show up, listen to his coaches, and give his team his best. Watching him turn those challenges into determination at only 5 years old makes me incredibly proud.
