What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Reed loves the competition, the friendships, and being part of a team working toward the same goal. Whether he’s practicing, playing under the lights, or encouraging a teammate, he gives it his all. He loves challenging himself, learning from every game, and seeing his hard work pay off. For Reed, sports aren’t just about winning—they’re about growing, building confidence, making memories, and being surrounded by teammates who become friends.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Reed is inspired by the people who show up for him—his coaches, teammates, family, and the athletes he looks up to. He admires people who work hard, stay humble, and keep going even when things don’t go their way. On the field, he’s motivated by teammates who push him to improve; off the field, his family reminds him to be kind, confident, and always give his best. He wants to be someone younger athletes can look up to in the same way.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of our proudest moments came when Reed jumped a chain-link fence to retrieve a soccer ball and caught his arm, slicing it open badly enough to need seven stitches. After a rushed trip to the hospital, most kids would have called it a day—but Reed asked to go back. He returned to the field and played the entire game with his team. It wasn’t about ignoring the injury; it was about his determination, toughness, and commitment to showing up for his teammates.
