Rhys loves the competition, the friendships, and the feeling of being part of a team. Soccer challenges him to constantly improve and gives him the opportunity to compete at a high level with HTX U15 ECNL. As a freshman, he’s especially excited to represent his high school for the first time while continuing to grow with his club team.
Rhys is inspired by players who work hard when no one is watching and continue pushing through setbacks. He looks up to athletes who stay humble, put their team first, and never become satisfied with where they are. Their dedication reminds him that talent can open doors, but hard work, discipline, and character are what take you further.
One of my proudest moments was seeing Rhys recognized as a TopDrawerSoccer ECNL Boys Playoffs U14 Standout. It wasn’t just the recognition that made me proud—it was knowing how much work, sacrifice, and determination went into earning it. Watching him compete on that stage and have his hard work noticed showed him that the hours he puts into becoming better really do matter.
