What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreRichard loves playing Sports because it teaches him Great Morals & Values. Some of the great things he has learned is to be more receptive, be a positive team player, being a good role model, & being a positive figure to his peers as well as in the community. He loves to play Football & Basketball because he enjoys the competition. He also loves to perform to the best of his ability in his offense & defense positions.
Lane Johnson inspires Richard because he is consistent, tough, & he is a good teammate. He exhibits many great qualities of being a Positive, Successful Athlete & Human.
One of the moments that made me the proudest in Richard’s Athletic Journey is when he got very discouraged, doubtful, & felt like he wanted to quit after a losing game but, instead he shifted his mindset & listened to our feedback. He decided he would no longer think or feel that way. He wouldn’t allow those feelings to over power his hard work, consistency, & motivation. His team turned that season into a great season & he has changed his whole mindset since then!
