What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Robert loves the leadership, friendships, and connections he has developed through throwing javelin. He enjoys making new friends, learning from others, and growing both as an athlete and as a person. He especially values the sense of community and the opportunity to learn from coaches and fellow athletes.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Coach Pat and his 3 good friends and Olympians Fred Luke, Fred Andrews, and Duncan Atwood, inspire him. They have helped him tremendously by sharing their experience, encouraging him to keep improving, and showing what dedication and hard work can achieve. We are grateful for the time and support they have given him.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am most proud of my son placing 6th at KingCo and advancing to districts after battling through a shoulder injury. His dedication, determination, and refusal to give up showed incredible character. Watching him push through adversity and continue competing at a high level is a moment I will always be proud of.
