What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ryder loves the competition, teamwork, and challenge of sports. He especially enjoys being part of a team, working hard to improve, and seeing that hard work pays off. Whether he’s playing baseball, basketball, or trying a new sport, he loves learning, competing, and having fun with his teammates. Most of all, he loves the feeling of stepping onto the field or court and giving it his all.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Ryder is inspired most by his family, coaches, and teammates. His coaches teach him the importance of hard work, discipline, and being a good teammate, while his family encourages him to always do his best and stay humble. He also looks up to athletes who work hard to overcome challenges and never give up. These people inspire Ryder to keep improving, support others, and be the best version of himself.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me proudest was watching Ryder’s rec baseball team finish as the runner-up in the South Carolina State Tournament. Seeing how hard he worked, competed, encouraged his teammates, and stayed positive throughout the tournament showed me that winning isn’t everything. I was most proud of the athlete and teammate he was, and how humble he remained throughout the experience.
