What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreSeeing the results of hard work. Progress in personal skills and teams' results by following coach's directions.
My family, especially my dad. He's encouraged me since Day 1 and supported my efforts with both his time and money. We're even cross training to complete a 4 mile open water swim later this month. He was a D1 swimmer and that has inspired me to reach the same heights.
He struggled in his first season and wanted to quit. But he persevered and never gave up. He showed up to every practice, worked out at home to gain strength, and studied game videos from older players. By his second season he had moved from bench to a top performer. By his third season he made it to ODP Regionals, and this year he made it to ODP National Championships! He showed up every day, he put in the work, he encouraged his teammates, and he NEVER gave up.
