Learn MoreWhat Samuel loves most is the thrill of competition—the adrenaline of getting past defenders, creating a dangerous play, and finishing with a goal. Scoring gives him the greatest satisfaction, but he is always looking for the next chance to help his team. Even when things get difficult, he keeps pushing because he wants to win, make his family proud, and work toward his biggest dream: one day playing in a World Cup.
Samuel is inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo for his determination, discipline, goals, and lifelong dedication to soccer. He admires how Ronaldo has worked since he was young to build an incredible legacy—and Samuel dreams of one day going even further. Off the field, his biggest inspiration is his dad, whose constant support pushes him to aim higher, work harder, and always become better at what he does.
One of my proudest moments is seeing how Samuel keeps training even when circumstances make soccer difficult. When we couldn’t afford a club, he didn’t stop. He trained on his own at a nearby park, sometimes barefoot, and practiced at home to improve his touch, control, and shooting. He is always looking for a way to get better. His three-goal game made me incredibly proud, but his discipline when no one is watching makes me proudest.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
