What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Samuel loves the challenge of soccer as it requires physical and mental stamina, along with the camaraderie and brotherhood of working together to win the game and score goals. He thrives on the accountability that is needed from his coach and teammates. Sam also enjoys the speed & energy required for soccer and has grown in many ways from the skills required to play it at high levels. He loves how there is always more to learn & how his team has progressed to be one of the nation's finalists!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Sam is inspired by some of the most famous soccer players, including Kaka, Messi, Pele, Maradona & Ronaldo & some of the lesser know also. He admires them for their skill & talent but also for their morals in life and the dedication to their team and country. Samuel is also inspired by his coaches, especially Andy Giordano, who has been his coach since he was 10 years old. Coach Giordano has formed Sam in mind, skill and character; he has high expectations for his players in the game & for life.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Samuel has always been the one to keep the morale & spirit of the team up, whether it is to get them pumped for the game or encourage them to keep their heads up when things get tough. He communicates & affirm others when they score or play hard, in addition to being the first to help clean up and serve in whatever position is needed, he has many! Sam has had many awesome goals & moments where he sped past the opposing player to score or assisted his teammates to make the goal needed.
