As a running back Santana loves the challenge of carrying the ball, making plays and finding ways to help his team win. Santana embraces challenges.
Santana expresses often his father inspires him on and off the field. He looks up to him not only for his knowledge of football but the way he leads with integrity and discipline. Through his father’s guidance he has learned that success comes from hard work, consistency and never giving up. Those lessons shape him into the athlete he is becoming and more importantly the person he is growing up to be.
One moment that makes me the proudest in Santana football journey is watching my son mature into a leader! During a game one of his teammates made a mistake on a play on the field and became discouraged, instead of focusing on his self Santana encouraged his teammate, reminding him to keep his head up and to keep going. That moment showed me that football was more to him than running the ball. It taught him leadership, resilience and importance of putting his team first.
