What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves swimming and the feeling of how when she is in the pool it pushes her beyond what she thought she could do. She loves the challenge and her motto of this year is if it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you! Most importantly though, she loves being part of a team and supporting her teammates, and knowing that no matter how hard things might get, she can keep going and never give up. That’s why she loves swim!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her biggest inspirations are her family, especially her parents and her little brother, and some of her close friends as well. They encourage her and support her through all the challenges she might face, and remind her to keep working hard even when it gets tough, both in and out of the pool.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Whenever she faces a challenge or has a tough race, I see the heart and passion in her eyes that keeps her going and never lets her give up. The first time she made FLAGS, which is a qualifying meet, she had the biggest smile on her face and that’s when I knew that every early morning and long practice was worth it. She trained so hard and gave up so many things so when to reach that moment so when I saw that smile, I knew and she knew every sacrifice was worth it and it was so special to see!
