Tarik Skubal is his on field inspiration, Sawyer has shown a passion for pitching and strives to be just like Tarik. Off field his Dad is his inspiration, he loves all the things he learns and wants to be a father like him one day.
As his father there are so many, but I would have to say the one that made me the proudest was when a fluke accident happened and Sawyer took a bat full swing to the face the only 2 things he was concerned about was not being able to play the rest of the game and how upset his teammate that hit him with the bat was. After he returned from the hospital check up he ran right up to his teammate and gave him a big hug and told him it's all ok and it was an accident and they are still friends.
