What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreSawyer loves the competition and challenge of getting better every day, but most of all, she loves being part of a team. As a multi-sport athlete who plays softball, volleyball, and basketball, she enjoys the friendships, teamwork, and shared goals each sport brings. She loves encouraging her teammates, celebrating their successes, and creating memories together. For Sawyer, sports are about more than competition—they’re about the people beside her and the lifelong lessons they learn together.
Sawyer's uncle, Bryan Narducci has cerebral palsy and has overcome many obstacles to do the thing he loves most - being a Nascar race car driver. His resilience to overcome the disability and be fearless on every track he drives, resonates with Sawyer and her desire to achieve everything she works.
In 2025, Sawyer helped lead her Seniors Little League team to a state championship, regional tournament representing Connecticut, and the LLSWS on ESPN2. At just 12, she faced 16-17-year-olds on the biggest stage, starting on the mound in the World Series. After a tough first outing, she kept working and finished the week striking out 7 players from Puerto Rico. Watching her grow through adversity was one of my proudest moments.
