What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Selena loves most about cheer is being part of a team that has become her second family. She loves challenging herself to learn new skills, celebrating every accomplishment, encouraging her teammates to be their best and seeing all her hard work pay off at competitions. Cheer has taught her confidence, discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. More than the trophies, she treasures the friendships, memories, and joy that comes from doing what she Loves.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The person who inspires me most is my mom. She cheered when she was growing up, and now she coaches. Watching how much she loves cheer makes me want to work hard and be the best cheerleader I can be. I love that me and my Mom have so much Love for the same sport. She always tells me to never give up, believe in myself, and have fun. I want to make her proud, just like she makes me proud every day.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

It's impossible to choose just one moment because every step of Selena's journey has made me proud. Whether she's learning a new skill, overcoming a setback, encouraging a teammate, or stepping onto the competition floor, she gives her whole heart. Watching her grow into a confident, kind, determined athlete who never gives up is what makes me the proudest. Every moment has been special.
