What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The excitement of being part of a team, competing, and challenging himself to become better. He enjoys the brotherhood with his teammates, energy of the game, and accomplishing something through hard word and dedication. I think he enjoys being able to express himself on the field, build confidence, and see his hard work pay off. he has now encouraged his little brother s to play football.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

People who encouraged him to believe in himself and push beyond what he thinks he can accomplish. On the field, his coaches and teammates inspire him to work hard, stay discipline, and be a team player. Off the field, his family, cousins, and Kappa League showed him the importance of character, discipline, integrity, perseverance, and never give up. I want him to understand that success is not just about how he performs on the field, but also about the person he becomes away from it.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

He moved to a new state as young child with no friends. It was like starting over for him to get to know people as a child was quiet and an an introvert. In a new area, he found his niche in sports and began to bloom. The moments of his growth and passion for football reminded me that football help him grow not only as an athlete, but as a young man. His continued willingness to keep learning, improving, and believing in himself is what makes me the proudest.
