What Shaun loves most about football is the excitement, the friendships, and the feeling of being on the field doing what he loves. He enjoys playing alongside his friends, running around, competing, and having fun with his teammates. There is nothing quite like the feeling he gets when he makes a touchdown and hears the crowd cheering him on. That excitement pushes him to keep working hard and becoming a better player.
Shaun’s dad is his biggest inspiration, both on and off the field. He leads by example and teaches Shaun to work hard, stay focused, be respectful, and never give up. On the field, his dad pushes him to believe in his abilities and always give his best. Off the field, he reminds Shaun to be a good teammate, a great person, and to stay humble no matter how much he achieves
One moment in Shaun’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest is what other coaches and trainers and his teammates have to say about him. They always pull us to the side to say how much potential he has, how coachable he is, how he prays for his team, and how he always shows up every game and is locked in. When he got hurt in the sweet 16 tournament , he still held his head high and cheered his team own. I was so proud that he didn’t let that keep him down
