What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Skyler loves discovering what he can do next. He gets so excited when something that used to be hard suddenly feels easy, because he knows he worked for it. He loves learning new skills, getting better, and seeing how far he can push himself. Of course he loves to win, but what really lights him up is realizing, “I can do it now!” And once he can, he is already ready for the next challenge. That excitement to keep trying, learning, and growing is what makes sports so special to him.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Skyler looks to his mom and dad as inspiration. His dad coaches him in soccer and football, and they train side by side in taekwondo. To Skyler, it simply means Dad is there beside him. Through every challenge, his mom and dad believes in him, encourages him to reach higher, and shows him by example that dreams are not simply wished for; they are earned through heart, courage, and hard work.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment isn’t a single win, goal, or belt. It’s the first time I watched Skyler struggle with something, refuse to give up, and finally do it on his own. The look on his face wasn’t just excitement; it was the moment he realized his hard work had become ability. Since then, I’ve watched that same determination follow him into every sport. As his father, nothing makes me prouder than watching him learn that falling short isn’t the end. It’s simply where he starts working harder.
