What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love sports because they constantly challenge me to become better. Football gives me the brotherhood, competition, and intensity I love. Wrestling has taught me toughness, discipline, and how to fight through adversity. Track pushes me to become faster and compete against myself. Each sport makes me stronger physically and mentally. I love the work behind the scenes, the competition, and finding out just how good I can become.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My dad inspires me because he’s shown me that no matter how hard life hits, you can stay down or use the pain to become stronger. I’ve watched God cut him down like the currant bush in Elder Christofferson’s story, then build him back stronger. Josh Allen inspires me because he never gave up on his dream. When almost no one gave him a chance, he kept working and believing until he made it. Both remind me to keep getting back up.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me most proud as Skyler’s mom isn’t one game, win, or big play. It’s watching him do the work when no one is looking. It’s seeing the mental toughness he’s built in the quiet moments, when his own mind is his biggest opponent. It’s his drive to keep pushing when no one is cheering him on. Those moments may never show up on a scoreboard, but they’re shaping him into more than a great athlete… they’re turning him into a great man.
