What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves the community of girls she’s been playing with. They have been together for many seasons and have formed such positive and supportive friendships. The fast pace of the game is very exciting to her and she loves being there for her teammates on the field and working towards that “W”. She loves learning new skills that she can implement during the game and when she does she always looks for me , her mom, on the sideline to make sure I saw it too!!! Always learning!!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her Dad—she sees how hard he works and never lets her down , especially for being there for her games. He juggles work, studying for his Master’s Degree in I.T., and being a very involved, loving and supportive husband and father. No matter how tired he is , he shows up. Sofia thinks that’s a very admirable quality to have on and off the soccer field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am proudest of her ability to bounce back and never give up. Even when the team is down she carries her head high and gives it her all. Sofia never gives up on herself or her team. She’s always complimenting her teammates. I love Sofia’s interest in new soccer programs and camps where she can build new skills along the way. I am so proud of the amazing soccer player and teammate she is. I truly admire her passion and dedication to the game.
