What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Sofia love most about volleyball is the friendships and character it has helped her build. Volleyball has brought some of her closest friends into her life while teaching her resilience, leadership, teamwork, and how to keep going when things get hard. It has helped her grow not just as an athlete, but as a person.
Andi Jackson inspires me both on and off the court. She admires her strength, confidence, work ethic, and the way she carries herself as an athlete. She reminds her that being a great athlete is about more than talent—it’s about resilience, believing in yourself, and continuing to grow through every challenge.
I’m proudest of how she pushed through being bullied and shamed by coaches, even when it caused her to doubt herself and lose confidence. Instead of letting those experiences define her, She kept working, kept showing up, and rebuilt her confidence. Getting to where she is today, after everything she had to overcome, is something I’m incredibly proud of.
