What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love football and track because they give me a chance to compete, challenge myself, and become better every day. I love making plays with my teammates in football and pushing my-self to be faster and stronger in track. Sports have taught me that hard work matters, and I thank God for giving me the strength and ability to do what I love.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

God is my biggest inspiration because I know he is always with me, even when things get hard. My family and coaches also inspire me because they believe in me and push me to be my best self. They remind me to stay humble, work hard, and never quit. I want to make them proud and make my-self proud and use the talents God gave me.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

At AAU club championships Solomon fouled 4x in a row for discus, which he has never done. He was very frustrated and his confidence took a hit. However, he persevered by adding extra throw practices, with his coaches and on his own. He worked through his mental uncertainty regarding discuss. His next championship meet at IYC when he fouled he exhibited mental toughness, discipline and compsure. He went on to win IYC & AAU JO Discus championship titles with PB throws in each competition.
