What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Stephanie loves proving that hard work matters more than size. As one of the smaller goalies on the ice, she embraces every challenge. She enjoys the extra training, learning new skills, and pushing herself to improve every day. Whether playing hockey, basketball, swimming, or another sport, she loves competing, supporting her teammates, and showing that determination, confidence, and heart can overcome any obstacle.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Stephanie is inspired by athletes who never quit and earn success through hard work. Her younger sister, Hailey, who is autistic, has also taught her valuable lessons. Caring for and spending time with Hailey has helped Stephanie become more patient, calm, and understanding. Those qualities carry onto the ice, especially during breakaways, where staying patient instead of committing too early often makes the difference between a save and a goal.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Every time Stephanie steps onto the ice, people notice how small she is and often underestimate her. Instead of seeing it as a disadvantage, she works harder than everyone else. Through countless hours of training, she has proven time and again that size doesn’t define a goalie—heart, preparation, and determination do. Watching her earn respect through effort and resilience, not excuses, makes me proud every single day.
