What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Sully loves most about hockey, is well, hockey. He's loved the sport since he was a baby and stepped on the ice for the first time at 4 years old. He loves the level of competition he experiences against other team's players as well as learning from his teammates. He loves traveling to new places, competing against new teams and pushing himself constantly to do his best when he's on the ice for himself and the others that depend on him to be a part of their team.
Sully says his dad is the person who inspires him the most and that he shares his passion for hockey with. His dad grew up playing soccer, baseball and football but never learned to skate as a kid, despite his love of hockey. He learned to skate in his thirties so he could be on the ice with Sully and share the same experiences he had with his own dad coaching. He spent Sully's early years as his in-house coach and taught Sully the importance of working hard, but always remembering to have fun.
Sully has served as alternate captain, earned MVPs and was high school player of the week and the month. His high school JV team went undefeated for an entire season. He's served as a junior coach, a youth referee & volunteered at youth hockey camps. Hockey has shaped Sully into so much of who he is. But we're proudest that he's the last one off the ice, everytime. We'll find him at the door, seeing each teammate off the ice with a high five and "good job" before he leaves.
