What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreTalon loves the competition, being part of a team, and always having something to work toward. He loves baseball because there is always another opportunity to get better. He especially loves using his speed—stealing bases might be his favorite part! More than anything, he just genuinely loves being on the field, competing with his teammates, and playing the game.
His dad is one of his biggest inspirations. His dad has coached him throughout the years and has taught him that being a good athlete is about so much more than talent. It’s about working hard, being coachable, respecting others, being a good teammate, and giving your best even when things don’t go your way. Talon looks up to him both on and off the field.
It’s honestly hard to choose just one moment because I’m proudest of the kind of athlete Talon is becoming. He may not always be the loudest kid on the field, but he works hard, listens, respects his coaches and teammates, and never stops trying. Watching him step outside his comfort zone, grow in confidence, and continue to work for what he wants makes me prouder than any hit, stolen base, win, or trophy ever could.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
